Live Action TMNT

With rumors flying all over the net about the live action Ninja Turtles reboot sceduled for 2011, this image has solidified a lot of arguments about style. Word is a batman begins, darker, closer to the comic style script and look is the plan and with Shredder, April O’Neil and Casey Jones involved I feel like I’m 10 again. The talk is that its gonna be a “hybrid” movie with live action realistic Turtles rendered in CGI and blended in. Actors and stunt performers will be in full Turtle suits for filming in live action. Hopefully they wont be dancing this time.... lol but the question is… what ever happened to Bee bop and Rock Steady?

RIP MIKE JACK

Don't Quit.

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
when the road you’re trudging seems all up hill,
when the funds are low and the debts are high,
and you want to smile but you have to sigh,
when care is pressing you down a bit -
rest if you must,
but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about when he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow -
you may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than it seems to a faint and faltering man;
often the struggler has given up when he might have captured the victor’s cup;
and he learned too late when the night came down,
how close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out -
the silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
and you never can tell how close you are,
it may be near when it seem so far;
so stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit -
it’s when things seem worse,
that you must not quit.

“I get my energy from my inner G
I be in outer space, but I got inner peace
So tell my enemies that they can’t injure me
I know that irritates, you have my sympathies
Well, you should protest, yeah you should picket me
I’m on a losing strike, I’m on a winning streak”

The Power of the Moment....

The other day, I read “the greatest mistake that you can make is to be afraid of making one.”

This very moment, right now, excites me. Its power is so dynamic and immense.

If you don’t like something, change it. If your thoughts don’t serve you, change them. If the shoe doesn’t fit, find another.

There’s so much power in a moment. It’s potential energy ready to transform into kinetic energy at our will, whenever we decide to take action.

We’re trained to live passive lives like they’re something to aspire to. Don’t reach for passivity and mediocrity; if nothing else, fail to it.

For me, part of finding the good is understanding the power of a moment. Knowing that it doesn’t last forever. If it’s painful, it’ll be over soon. If it’s enjoyable, know that you should cherish it because it, too, will expire. We live in the eternal moment of now. The future is now. Einstein told us that “everything you can imagine is real.” So imagine. Dream. Experience. Celebrate. Move in the direction you want to go in. Don’t resist change; that’s constant.

Hey! Start your action now.

Today I met a lady who told me that I was wasting my time with social media. She said that it was a waste of time and that “we (society) don’t need it, especially twitter”

I took a few deep breaths and listened to her opinions then tried to explain that it is a very powerful tool that should be embraced and used in a positive way. She continued to tell me “we don’t need it!” and expressed her hatred of twitter and other forms of social media.

I again took a few deep breaths to try to think of something prudent to say then out of nowhere a cool analogy came to me. I said in a very respectful way;

“It’s true we don’t ‘need’ social media just like how you don’t ‘need’ to wear make up. And depending on how you apply it, it can be either positive or negative.”

I certainly did not come across as rude, but it did make her stop and think about the analogy.

One of the Greats.

The evening of March 10, 2002 was a glorious one. Despite this fact, I wouldn’t remember anything that happened that day had it not been for MTV airing Lauryn Hill’s Unplugged No. 2.0 that night.

I was only in the 9th grade, but I remember being completely engrossed, and when I watched it the next day, that excitement and wonder was still there. This work was a piece of underrated genius. There was so much raw honesty, truth and intensity. It’s a light in the darkness.

Lauryn encourages listeners to free their minds, see beyond the illusions, and heal. It’s hard to listen and not self-reflect: how free am I? how much do I truly see? how honest am I? what am I scared of? does my walk reflect my talk? how much of myself have I compromised? what have I compromised?

Surrounding this release were criticisms against Hill. “Is she crazy?” No. I don’t think she ever was. She just realized how maddening the world she lived in was and called it what it was. Those who exist in the matrix don’t appreciate being told they live in a matrix. Thus, the “crazy” title was born.

If you’ve never heard Unplugged No. 2.0, buy it and listen to it today. If it’s been a while since you last heard it, listen to it today. Whatever your situation, listen to it today. Just make sure that while you’re listening, you’re listening.

Mastering the Art of Love.

I’ve spent the last few months contemplating love, dysfunction and the relationship between the two. Does the absence of love breed dysfunction? That question leads to several other questions, such as “what is love?” It’s an age-old question that I’m not equipped to answer with absolute certainty at this point (maybe another post), but I know that the two don’t comfortably co-exist, and yet so many operate in a constant state of dysfunction but try to invite love in and see no positive results. It’s both amazing and amazingly sad.

After a failed romantic endeavor, I spent months beating myself up about my ineptitudes, which–aha!–didn’t improve anything. Once I got over myself and was able to sift through all the many lessons, I found this:

How you love yourself is how you’ll love others.
Being able to love others only truly happens when you love yourself.
You learn love from your parents.
You also learn dysfunction from your parents.
At some point, you’ll have to sort out your mess from your parents mess and make new agreements with yourself about what you believe to be true.

Then, you’ll have to change the way you behave to support those new agreements.
Change doesn’t always happen as fast as we’d like.
People are constantly projecting their ideas of you/themselves/life/etc. See past the illusion.
If you keep attracting crappy people into your life…the common denominator is you.
There’s a chance that all our problems could be solved if we loved ourselves more.*
Self-love is a neverending quest; even at the destination, there is more journey.
I learned quite a bit more, but I’ll save that for personal conversations. One of my most recent ruminations is “is your love love?” Judging by the state of the world, I’m going to say that there’s so much brokeness that even mangled concepts of love are accepted and flourishing. I challenge you to ask yourself this question and be brutally honest with yourself. Denial will only serve the dysfuction, not the love.

Love’s in need of love today. And so are we.

* Results not guaranteed.

Think about it.

YOU Be the Judge....

Recently, theres been a lot of speculation around popular and sucessfull recording artists such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, Beyonce, Rihanna, etc and whether or not they "sold their souls to the devil" in order to reach their success and wealth. it actually goes beyond music and entertainment and could be linked to upper branches of society even as high as the President of the United States. its been said that they are apart of a "secret society" called the Illuminati, under a kind of antichrist religion call free masonry. but at the head of all the shuffle is Rapper Jay-Z. I've done a little research on this subject, and honestly, I don't know what to think. Its a very heavy debate with both sides having valid arguments. One side saying that its very true, he worships the devil, and he has all the symbolism in his videos to prove it, which he does. However, the other side has a valid point as well as they say that the ppl are thinking too hard about it and that its not as deep as people are trying to make it seem, and that he is using this imagery to for attention and buzz.... case in point his new video for "on to the next one." to me, quite frankly; the video has nothing to do with the song at all. its kinda creepy to me, but then again it could be something im not getting right away without an explanation. i dunno. but in this clip, someone takes the time to break down the different images throughout the video to prove the point that Hov does indeed follow the masons.... its kinda of a touchy subject with hip hop fans and fans of music period. take a look, then you decide what you wanna believe....

shout out to Dimewars.com for the clip.

HAPPY NEW YEAR....
